I am a queer multi-disciplinary artist, researcher, and educator based in Chicago. Across textiles, print, and digital media, I examine how image-making processes are bound to lineages of empiricism. Working between pixel and stitch, I propose new forms of image-making based around the ephemeral side-effects of the technologies and ways of knowing which govern how we see each other.
Outside of my artistic practice, I am a PhD candidate in the Computer Science and Learning Sciences program, where I study artists’ learning as distributed, social, lifelong practices. Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in learning more!
I can be reached at mpbrucker (at) gmail (dot) com or on Instagram at @_glamourgal. CV available upon request.
